Let me show you how.
Spotlight
We don't see progress and we don't see breakthroughs when we adopt this mindset:
I undervalue myself (e.g. Self Doubt)
I pay attention to what others think I can or not do (e.g. Accepting Beliefs)
I blame and complain instead of doing and re-doing.
I try and control the outside and not the inside (HINT: Breakthrough is within you, not out there somewhere).
Yes somethings are out of control.
Bad weather.
Flight delays.
Other people's reactions.
And some things are not really your problem but it manipulates you.
Other people's emotions.
Other people's actions.
How other people treat you.
All of this leads to us suffering.
I like to call it the trap of occupation. People love being occupied with their Self-Pain-BS
And guess what they attract as a result??
So Now Here Is Way To Focus on Controllables
1. I am My Word
Words have power. Your thoughts are words. Your relationships are words. Your success is in words. You are the word.
You are what you say.
Your gossip and negative talks are what your words will attract for you.
Your words can uplift you or downgrade you.
No one feeds you words in your mouth, you know. It is a choice.
Your are your words.
In your control.
Choose.
2. I Can Ignore Other People
Of course we need people around us.
Business is people.
Success is people.
But people don't carry you up. You bring them up. They watch.
You see the world in a certain way. It is unique to you.
Other people see it in their own way.
Don't believe their interpretations.
99.99% of the time, the default response to a new possibility from other people is the word 'NO'
Why? Just. I told you above - People Love To Occupy Themselves With Pain. No is a pain. Now they have something to crib about in life and in bad luck.
Treat this as math. The .01% is You. And you are the breakthrough.
3. I Separate Fact from Assumptions
Whatever your beliefs about any particular thing, specially the negative ones, ask yourself a simple question - Is it a fact or are you assuming?
Example.
"Business is not for me."
Ya who the f*ck told you?
"It is difficult to write a book."
How many have you written to conclude that?
"My genes make it difficult to lose weight."
Yo! you must be a DNA f*cking expert!
90% of stuff around you and stuff in your brain is just assumption. Just because it is written in a book, it doesn't become true for you.
4. I Always Add Value
It may not be in your control, the results that you will get. But there is one thing in your control that activates a universal principle for acclaim - Give Value.
In conversations.
In meetings.
In your social media posts. (and no where you ate or what your food looked like is not value - it is = kitchen sink).
In everything you do.
Add value first. And in everything. You don't even need to expect returns. They just come.
Action
Audit your brain.
Now.
For the four steps above.
What will you correct in the words you choose?
Which are the people you definitely need to ignore?
Which assumptions do you need to chuck?
What value based actions can you take each day?
